Digital art, relentlessly...
« If you had to find her a lineage, you could imagine her to be the grand daughter of artist Tamara Lempicka and daughter of a certain Mac Intosh, inventor of the computer. » Pierrick Alain, Télérama
Painter, videographer, multimedia artist, Judith Darmont is a multitasker with talent, whose work is shown internationally. Judith Darmont is a painter. Since the 80s, her talent has been asserted and exposed. In the early 90s, Judith created her first digital painting on a computer.
Her constant creative mode, combined with a "technology farmer" spirit lead her into innovative artistic fields and to the highest places of Paris' digital art - Modern Art Center Georges Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, Vidéothèque de Paris, ... Painting, digital painting, animation then video art. "An atypical journey that always sought creation and the most innovative creation techniques and technology." In 1995, she founds ECHOSYSTEM, a music and image multimedia band, and makes it to stages in Paris, Cannes, Barcelona, as well as private events. Today, Judith Darmont is a bona fide multimedia artist whose artistic projects travel the world from stage to stage, bringing a pertinent artistic perspective to brands and products. Judith creates, retouches, modifies and mixes her sequences like a painter. Her talent resides in her astonishing ease in creating sequences, playing and mixing them live. On European electrojazz stages, Judith works alongside musicians, improvising mixes made of loops and video art samples, on giant screens. SINCE THE MID 90s, JUDITH DARMONT HAS ESTABLISHED HERSELF AS A VIDEO ARTIST IN THE EVENT WORLD. In 2002, APPLE calls on her talent to mix images live on stage at the legendary Olympia, for the launch of the very first iPod in France, alongside the best "French Touch" DJs. The video art is mixed and broadcast live, synchronized with the music and touches the audience, immersed into a visual and musical show. Video art as we see it today, on stage at private events, has developed in the mid 90s in Asia, the USA and Europe. Since the 90s, Judith adopts new technologies to express and develop her art. She engineers, investigators, associations and communities that make up digital culture and contribute to the growth of these new fields still widely unknown by mainstream audiences. IN PARALLEL, JUDITH INCREASES HER ARTISTIC MATURITY: SHE GOES DEEPER INTO VIDEO ART AND MULTIPLIES SHOWS WITH MUSICIANS AND DJs... The language of image has too much in common with that of music for Judith to limit herself to her visual environment. She feeds here a very deep passion for music that will rapidly lead her to confront her array of images and video sequences to those of electronic, jazz and classic musicians. In the past 10 years Judith has founded bands and multiplied collaborations with musicians and DJs on the European and Canadian stages of the biggest international jazz festivals - Montreal, Nice, Vienne, Porquerolles, Factory du Festival d'Ile de France-, as well on jazz et electrojazz stages such as New Morning, La Cigale, Le Trabendo, Le Batofar ... The progranning of this type of concert goes together with the democratisation of a new genre: visual performance earns its place on the biggest international stages. |
