re-live video art projections on your smartphone, in the city...

The QR code or Flash code:Your smartphone will guide you on the urban journey of URBAN SPIRITS City Tour.
When you arrive near a projection site, the presence of a QR code allows you to
manually trigger the arty video portrait corresponding to the site that you are visiting.

The QR code (for Quick Response) is a two-dimension barcode (or matrix code) consisting of black modules arranged inside of a white background square. The name QR stands for Quick Response, because its data content can be decoded rapidly. Designed to be read with a QR barcode reader, a mobile phone or a smart phone, it offers the advantage of stocking more information than a barcode.

                          AUGMENTED REALITY:
Your smartphone, with the help of an Augmented Reality software films reality, meaning a piece of your environment (such as a door in front of you)...

This reality gets enriched by art videos: it has been "augmented".

If you are on the CITY TOUR, the URBAN SPIRITS journey through the city, your smartphone, aided by an Augmented Reality software will guide you toward addresses where projections of the art video portraits have taken place.

The art video portrait that has previously been projected in this site will automatically appear on the screen of your smartphone.

You are on the City Tour: when the NFC chip passes close to a projection point, your smartphone equiped with a NFC chip will take you to the City Tour's experimentation site.

Near Field Communication, commonly called NFC, is a short range high frequency wireless communication, facilitating the information exchange between terminals up to a distance of about 10 cm/4 inches. This technology is an extension of the ISO/CEI 14443 norm that standardizes proxy maps using RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification), which combine the interface of a smart card and a reader within the same terminal.

An NFC terminal is as capable of communicating with the existing ISO/CEI 14443 equipment than with any other NFC terminal, and is as compatible with the existing contact-free infrastructures found in public transportation and payment terminals. NFC was initially conceived for use in cell phones.
